During your apprenticeship, you will work practically right from the start and learn skills that will be used in your everyday working life. You will enter the world of work straight away and earn money during your apprenticeship. Once you have successfully completed your apprenticeship, there are various options open to you. You can start your career straight away or use the apprenticeship as a basis for studying or further training to deepen your knowledge.
What does an industrial apprenticeship at OTTO WULFF look like?
Industrial training at OTTO WULFF is practical, structured and personally supervised. As a family business, we attach great importance to providing the best possible training for the skilled workers of tomorrow. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will have a permanent mentor at your side who will introduce you step by step to the manual tasks, support you and encourage your development.
The practical part of your training will take place both on our construction sites and at the Hamburg training center. On the construction site, you will get to know the day-to-day work, apply your knowledge directly and adapt flexibly to situations together with your team. At the training center, you will deepen your technical skills in a protected environment and can try out new things. The training is complemented by vocational school lessons, where you will learn the theoretical basics over three years. This will give you a strong foundation for your professional future.
What industrial apprenticeships are available at OTTO WULFF?
Concrete and reinforced concrete worker:
During your apprenticeship, you will learn how to create foundations, ceilings and walls, build formwork, lay structural steel and process fresh concrete. You will also learn how to use your hands to create reliable living spaces from concrete and steel - from underground car parks to bridges. You will need an MSA/intermediate school-leaving certificate to apply.
Bricklayer:
Bricklayers build and erect shell structures based on construction drawings. From concreting the cellar foundations to plastering the walls, bricklayers are involved in every aspect of construction. In addition to laying bricks "in a group", bricklayers also assemble prefabricated components according to precise construction drawings. You will need an MSA/Mittlere Reife for your application.
Carpenter:
Do you want to combine wood and sustainability? With us, you will not learn the classic roof truss, but the future: timber hybrid construction for residential and school buildings. You will learn how to assemble and seal modular wooden elements and high-quality wooden ceilings. We will prepare you for the future in a team with a mentor and the chance of being taken on - bring a good MSA or A-levels and get started!
Electrician for energy and building technology:
During your apprenticeship, you will learn how to set up, maintain and test building power systems and LAN networks. You will also install, maintain and service electrical systems. You will also have the opportunity to go fishing with the team at our own building yard with fishing jetty. You will need a secondary school leaving certificate and a driving license for your apprenticeship.

Interview with Egzon: What it's like to be a bricklayer at OTTO WULFF
Why did you decide to train as a bricklayer at OTTO WULFF? What makes the apprenticeship special for you?
I decided to train as a bricklayer at OTTO WULFF because the company stands for good quality, teamwork and large construction projects. I particularly like the fact that you are involved right from the start and can see what you have created at the end. I decided to train as a bricklayer because the profession offers very good opportunities for further training, which are also supported by the company. You also have good long-term opportunities in the construction industry.
What does your day-to-day training at OTTO WULFF look like? What is your main focus at work?
My day at work starts early on the construction site. Punctually at 6 am so that we can start together at 6:30 am. There is a particular focus on facing brickwork. I learn all the processes step by step: from the preparation to drilling the trusses and insulating to the clean and precise brickwork. At the end of the day, the joints are scraped out and the brickwork is cleaned. So every day you can see what you have achieved with your own work.
How did your application process go? Do you have any tips for the application?
I found the application process at OTTO WULFF to be very pleasant and uncomplicated. I was already familiar with the company as a renowned construction company before my apprenticeship. When I found out that OTTO WULFF also trains bricklayers, I applied straight away. I was invited to an interview just a few days later. The interview was honest and at eye level, so it was immediately clear that it was a good fit.
My tip for applicants is to be aware that you are working in construction. It can sometimes be cold, wet and physically demanding. In addition, there is sometimes a slightly rougher tone on the construction site, but in my opinion this is also part of the team spirit. On the other hand, you often work in the fresh air in good weather, experience strong team spirit and care is also taken to ensure that the employees are doing well, for example by having barbecues together, company parties, etc.
